Scientists do not agree on whether and to what extent intelligence can still be increased in adulthood. But especially the ability to remember can still be trained at an advanced age. Here are some of my tips and tricks for training intelligence.
Tip 1: Self-reflection
Many people find it unusual to reflect on their own behaviour. But this is where the brain has to work to come to new conclusions and answer essential questions.
Tip 2: Reading
Reading expands your vocabulary and knowledge in different areas. You get to know new angles and broaden your perspective.
3rd tip: new contacts
Meeting new people broadens your horizons. Especially if these people are mentally on a different level and open up new perspectives. Intelligent people are an enrichment for you and bring you new insights. Promote your intelligence through contact with intelligent people!
Tip 4: Use your head
Turning off your head in front of the TV after work may seem like a good idea at first glance. But you are not doing yourself any good. Find something to do that stimulates your brain! Find new challenges and leave the TV off more often.
Tip 5: Break routines
Routines are important and make your life easier. Especially a morning routine helps you get a good start to the day. But every now and then it's time to break out of the usual and present your brain with new challenges. Letting the brain run on autopilot does not promote intelligence.
