Conversations with friends and acquaintances have revealed that I am not the only one who suffers from concentration problems when working from home. The other day, a friend reported that she seemed to have overcome her lack of concentration. I first asked if she had managed it with medication. That might have been the route I had chosen, had my friend not now told me of her successes. She said that - in order to be able to concentrate better - she has changed a few things in her home office. For example, she put curtains on the windows and created a whole new lighting concept in the room, and she also changed the lamp. She also bought a houseplant, a dragon tree. This plant is supposed to act as an air filter in the room, as it can absorb substances that otherwise fly through the air. She also regularly airs out her office - which I also do. She always gives herself a break while airing the room. After all, people are not machines. She draws strength from light gymnastic exercises or a short walk with the dog, thereby combining a duty or a must with something good, and without rushing. In addition, she always has a bowl of nourishment in her home office, namely nuts. She prefers walnuts. In addition, my friend makes sure she drinks enough while working in her home office, and she has a bowl of scented oils set up. She uses lavender. I'm going to give all of that a try as well, but will try rosemary as a fragrance oil.
