Should the economy be ruined by Corona, or do we just need a scapegoat (virus) ? ?
Fact is, some important indices showed a downward trend even before Corona. Besides, we all know that when the stock markets have gone up steeply, the crash inevitably comes. This has always been the case and will always remain so.
So if we take the highs on the stock markets and the creeping downward trend of the indices in the background, the crash was already in sight.
Then came Corona, what a wonderful coincidence. A scapegoat had been found for the stock market world, which was completely disconnected from reality.
Well, I'm not announcing anything new.
What worries me at the moment is the consequent shutdown of production, of economic activity in general. You pump money into the markets and at the same time stop all activity.
Has the virus really surprised all economic theorists to such an extent that they now react confusedly?
If my information is correct, it will take years (!) until the herd immunity is present. So there will be loosening of the quarantine, then more deaths, and the game starts all over again. The corona virus will keep us busy for 2 to 3 years. No economy can survive that. So we have a choice between a certain number of deaths or a collapsing economy. Correspondingly, social systems will come under pressure.
Is it better that the economy goes down or that many people die? Unfortunately it is not that simple!
At least 14 people have died in the yellow vest protests in France and more than 30 people have lost an eye. The background of the strikes were, compared to the Corona crisis, small problems.
A connection can be made between the deaths at demonstrations and economic problems. After the Corona crisis there will be many unemployed, small businesses will be ruined. Taxes and health insurance contributions will rise. Hyperinflation is also possible. This is likely to lead to demonstrations, and in some states to civil war-like conditions. There will also be deaths. One must see a quarantine and its consequences also from this point of view !
