Fortunately its mortality rate is not extremely high. So far only 3 people have officially died. That would be less than 10 % deaths.
However, at the beginning of a viral lung disease it can only be roughly estimated how contagious the virus is, since most of the infected persons are still under treatment.
It is very worrying, however, that hospital staff have also been infected. It is suspected that the coronavirus is so small that it can pass through the usual masks.
