Victims of sexual harassment may have workplace policies and legislation to protect them, but victims of bullying seldom have the same when subject to aggression, malicious rumors or gossip, social exclusion, undermining or impeding of a person’s work or opinions, unjustified exclusion from certain projects, removing areas of responsibility without cause, intruding upon a person’s privacy by pestering, stalking, or spying, rude behavior, destruction of property, assault or impossible deadlines.

Bullying can result in reduced effectiveness at work and elsewhere, higher employee turnover, etc.

Sexual harassment is a form of bullying. An employee who suffers could sue the employer and the abusive employee for negligence and/or a personal injury.
