  • Knife attacks, why would a normal person need a fixed blade knife?

I just saw another report about a knife attack. A student killed another student with a knife and injured three others. I don't know the background or their nationalities. But why would a normal person need a fixed blade knife? It's a lethal weapon and should be banned completely.

Of course, we need knives for certain professions and in the kitchen or hobby room. But what good is a knife when we go to a disco or the cinema? Or to the train station, etc.?

You don't need knives at school either. It's bad enough when differences of opinion are settled with fists. But knives are an absolute no-go!

What is the point of ridiculous bans if knives are not allowed to be carried at certain times in certain places?

Certain types of knives should simply no longer be sold. Knives should be banned in all areas where large numbers of people gather, and the penalties must be appropriately high.

I have never needed a knife in public! I have a knife in my car that could also be used to break a window. So I'm not fundamentally against knives, because sometimes they are simply necessary, even in public places. Young people who go to school, the disco, etc. with a fixed blade knife are potentially looking for trouble. So why not introduce a small firearms licence for fixed blade knives, or a general ban in particularly problematic places?

Durability and simplicity. A fixed blade knife is practically indestructible compared to folding knives. There are no moving parts, so there is less that can break.

I don't think that's an argument when you consider the alternative of severed organs and severe blood loss.

There are very robust and reliable folding knives for craftsmen. They should be sufficient.

So-called automatic knives are also okay, or borderline.

But anything that can be used for stabbing should be restricted. Or do we want a knife culture?

I have a few knives in my kitchen, but I would never dream of taking them with me to the rumble strip, etc. When traveling, you sometimes need a knife. But then it goes in your suitcase.

There are also elderly people who need to cut their food/meat into small pieces. Even in restaurants.

But they don't use butterfly knives, spring knives, combat knives, etc. for this purpose.

        Ich grüße Euch !
        Je vous salue !
        Greetings to you !

          Knife culture?

Apparently, there are up to 50 knife attacks per day in Germany! Who is committing these knife attacks and why?

rückwärts aus der Parklücke und schon krachte es ...

Quote: "A fixed knife is a deadly weapon and should be banned outright.

I agree. But with the following restriction: prohibited in public.

In kitchens, butcher shops, etc., and in other specific professions, sturdy, fixed knives are necessary. That is obvious. But in playgrounds, cinemas, nightclubs, etc., knives are not necessary.

Knife culture – an interesting term.

Knife culture: I have the pseudo sushi here, but that's not meant to have anything to do with the knife attacks.

I also find it shameful when state authorities appear so utterly helpless against these knife gangs. You need a small firearms licence for a gas pistol. Gas pistols are only lethal in extreme cases. With a knife, it's no problem to ‘stab’ someone. Serious or even fatal attacks with knives are the order of the day. Although it would be more accurate to speak of disorder.

So where is the general knife ban or the ‘knife licence’?

Women stabbed with syringes at a music festival, knife attacks every day – what is going on?

Reports came out of France that over 100 women were stabbed with syringes at a music festival. Most of the victims were scantily clad young women. And then there are the daily reports of knife attacks!

                What is going on?

Is this just general madness with a tendency towards criminal behaviour?
