I simply refuse conversations in the national language, if I have the feeling that the linguistic superiority is used against me. Then we all speak English (example) and then we see who is the more educated.

Bullying can be a difficult and upsetting experience, but please remember that you are not alone and that there are steps you can take to deal with the situation. Here are some suggestions:

Get support: talk to someone you trust, such as a family member, friend, teacher or school counsellor. They can give you advice and emotional support.

Document incidents: Keep a record of all bullying incidents, including the date, time, place and details of the incident. This documentation can be useful if you need to report the bullying to the school authorities or seek additional help.

Report the bullying: Inform a teacher, school counsellor or headmaster about the bullying you are experiencing. They are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Present them with the documented incidents and explain how the bullying is affecting you.

Get support from professionals: Consult a speech and language therapist or a language specialist who can help you improve your language skills and build confidence in your abilities. They can also provide strategies for dealing with bullying or educate others about your language disability.

Build a support network: Connect with other people who have similar experiences or disabilities. Support groups or online communities can provide a safe space where you can share your feelings, seek advice and draw strength from others who understand what you are going through.

Focus on your strengths: Remember that your value goes beyond your language skills. Recognise and celebrate your strengths, talents and achievements. When you build confidence in yourself, you will be better able to handle the challenges you face.

Practice self-care: Engage in activities that bring you joy and help you relax. Take care of your mental and physical well-being by eating nutritiously, getting enough sleep and exercising regularly. Taking care of yourself can improve your resilience and your ability to deal with difficult situations.

Involve parents or guardians: If bullying continues and the school does not respond appropriately, inform your parents or guardians about the situation. They can advocate for you and communicate with school authorities or ask outside organisations for help if necessary.

Remember that you deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of a language disability.

There are people who make fun of foreigners. They are looking for it. Unfortunately, this is also true in partnerships. You can deal with a foreigner in a completely different way, he/she can hardly defend him/herself verbally. One can say practically what one wants about this partner in the case of a problem or simply so in the circle of friends and acquaintances. How will someone defend himself/herself who understands at most 20% of the conversation or argument?

At least you can now defend yourself in writing with the help of translation programs.
