What kind of graphics do you need in a horror game?

Hi folks.


When i think about horror games, so many come to mind, i cant pick out a favorite. But i really wanted to know what you guys felt about the graphics in horror games. Do you think they need to be realistic? The way i see it, the more enveloping and realistic a horror game, the scarier because if it is realistic then the game will have a longer lasting effect on me after i'm done playing. Lets say a game like outlast, the graphics and characters were fairly realistic and because of that i was a scared of isolated places for quite some time after playing. What do you guys think?

I would suggest getting the latest and most powerful GPU out there. The thing that makes a horror game successful and amazing to play is the immersion that you get from it. From the terrifying soundtrack to the jump scares from an animal jam! Also, the scary ghost or ghoul that you encounter. If you have a cheap or less powerful GPU, the immersion won’t be the same and you won’t enjoy it as much.
