End of exit restriction / quarantine only in the distant future?
Pandemic expert D.Trump predicts an end of the restrictions by June 1st. By then 100 000 Americans will have died and that is enough. He thinks.
The corona pandemic clearly shows how many chatterers are in the public eye, how many experts are lying and how infinitely helpless we humans are when nature strikes back. However, one should not assume that nature has any character, neither positive nor negative. It simply does not have one. It's a reactive system, brutal by human standards. But that's the way the planet is.
A pandemic was long overdue. Virologists predicted a pandemic 30 years ago. Then came sars, mers, swine flu, bird flu, Ebola, various flu epidemics, etc.
All pathogens that could have caused a pandemic. But only the corona virus had all the properties a virus needs to cause a pandemic.
Now one stands there and laments about missing protective masks. And about quarantine.
That was the question asked at the beginning: How long does the whole corona spell last ?
Expert Trump, so far noticed by statements which were completely beside reality, was first of all of the opinion that Easter would be a good time. At the moment he thinks June 1st is a good date.
Italian and Spanish politicians always see the climax about 2 weeks in the future and then postpone the curfew for another 2 weeks. In other words, there is no end in sight. In France the game is similar. At the moment, the curfew is to be lifted on April 15th. Which nobody really believes in.
In Germany, the end of the corona crisis, at least the end of the restrictions, is passionately discussed. People like to use the word exit, because we are already very close to the exitus. At the moment we are seeing increasing numbers of infections almost everywhere.
What worries me personally are the dead in Italy. We are also seeing a worrying mortality rate in Spain. What's going on there? This no longer has anything to do with the "Wuhan flu", which is harmless for many infected people.
There is a brutal killer at work !
The number of infections is not the problem, it is the seriously ill who have to be ventilated and the deaths.
As the situation currently stands, there is no end in sight to the initial restrictions. There will rather be modifications. Like the compulsory mask. Or shopping only once a week and only with one person per household. Doctor's visits, pharmacy shopping etc. will also be regulated. Walking the dog, a problem that is completely unsolved for the time being. Before the chienese solution we want to distance ourselves for the time being.
Quarantine for certain age groups was an option for the Wuhan flu. But the Italian virus type also kills young people. So this door is also closing.
The question remains: why survive the corona pandemic if there is no longer a functioning economy?
A compromise will have to be found between the virus and the economy, but for the time being all we have left is to be 'patients'.
(patient of lat. patiens ' suffering ' enduring, bearing )
In this sense
Patience, and stay healthy !
