I had a pretty good relationship that lasted a few years. There were sometimes problems but we always found a solution. Then I sold a house and had about 500,000 euros to spend over the next three years. I am already over 70 years old and since then we don't need the money in the bank. There is no interest anyway.
I bought a car. Twice as much as her car. Not to spite her. The car just has a lot of electronics that make it safer to drive.
That's when the problems started. She didn't like the car. But all modern cars look the same inside.
We were in a sports club together for years. Suddenly, that didn't suit her either.
Then I bought some large plants for my garden. When I bought them, she asked me if I had had an adrenaline rush. What nonsense. I bought the plants because I love plants. Not to show off.
Every time I spent a large sum of money, she claimed to have high blood pressure.
Eventually, we kept our distance. I don't know where we go from here.
