This may not be a typical senior topic, but the woman is 74 and I am also a bit older. Every time I visit her, the main topic is sex, rape and stories about attempts to seduce. The rest of the "conversation" is about bad humanity. The landlord demands too much money, the wood is too expensive, the neighbors are concrete heads.
I could still understand the sex stories, if she was particularly attractive. But the woman, after all already in upper age, looks rather mediocre and is clearly overweight. She reports a lot about approaches in her youth. She may have looked better then. I don't know.
But I am not interested in stories that happened 50 years ago. It may be sad for her personally, but I am definitely not the right partner to talk about it all the time.
My questions : Is it normal to talk about negative things that happened 50 years ago ?
How should I react to it ?
Is it possible to help the woman ?
Is this a sign of old age ?
