Covid and the impact on the legal system, negotiations not again until WHO lifts pandemic status ?
Am involved in a traffic matter. One party, an elderly man, ( 70 ) is in the highest risk group. He has a whole host of pre-existing conditions: Asthma, anemia, diabetes, obesity. Even if he is vaccinated, an infection would mean a high risk for him.
The trial has now been adjourned because he has submitted a medical certificate stating that he cannot expose himself to any risk of infection. This is valid until the WHO lifts the pandemic status again. It should also be added that he has to travel over 1,000 km.

In principle, that's fine, but it means that the whole thing could drag on for months, if not years.
Is there any indication until when the WHO will lift the pandemic status? Currently, this goes from one wave to another, with always new variants.

In Israel, many elderly people have already been vaccinated four times and still become infected with Omikron.
Even though these are usually only mild cases, there is also the risk of long covid.

Thanks in advance for your opinion.
