Who is a little older remembers the Schwabing riots in 1962 ( ! ) ...wikipedia - the situation escalated: During the night and the following four days there were street fights in the entire area around the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) between an estimated 1000 to 5000 mainly youthful protest participants and partly mounted police officers.
High property damage was caused. A total of about 400 people were arrested, some were later sentenced to fines or imprisonment. The numerous charges against police officers remained mostly inconsequential.
The riots in France were more violent. But times have changed. The reason for the riots was also different.
