The crazy thing about our climate is that it gets warmer at first. The Gulf Stream gets warmer too, of course, and eventually it is warm in areas where it should be getting cooler. The water is simply too warm to sink and flow back down into the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf Stream, which supplies heat to Western Europe, slows down. As a result, it gets colder here.
So first it gets warmer/hotter, then cooler and finally cold.
Tragically, the colder it gets, the lower the heat output of the heat pumps. Then we need more electricity. The gas/coal-fired power stations will start up again and the dream of reducing carbon dioxide will be over.
