Our neighbor is unlucky and wants to transfer his problems onto us.

A few years ago, he set up a company with other people's money. After a while, he could no longer pay the interest and the court took away his power of disposal and put the company into administration.
The next project was to buy a house next door to us. The house had been empty for several years and was plagued by enormous problems: 20 years of renovation backlog, a septic tank that did not comply with regulations, no drinking water supply, etc. He then set up a small company.

Then he founded a small company. It was barely profitable and he had to announce a 50% cut in capital.

All these failures turned him into a despondent person who wanted to drag others down with him.

For some unknown reason, he thought that we were to blame for his problems. He reported us to various authorities.
Once, three armed officers stood outside the door to investigate his accusation. But they found nothing!
Since they were already there, they also checked our neighbor. And, lo and behold, they found what they were looking for. He had created a problem for himself.

    A real unlucky bird!

The matter made him so angry that he applied for a survey. The result was disastrous for him. The result led to a considerable reduction in the value of his property.

This made him even angrier and he made a complaint to the police with a fabricated accusation. The consequences for us were initially unpleasant interrogations by the police. However, the officers seemed suspicious and waited for a while.

This really upset the neighbor. He invented an even more absurd story and made up a second complaint. The police didn't investigate because we had had an expert report drawn up in the meantime that proved the absurdity of the accusation.

Overall, I have the impression that he has lost all sense of moral responsibility as a result of his personal failures. He has obviously lost touch with reality and will probably take further action against us.

Fortunately, he behaves very strangely and makes the officials and authorities suspicious, so that they are correspondingly cautious in their investigations. In at least one case, his accusation was simply left in a drawer.
It is to be feared that he will try to involve other people in his problems or that he will act aggressively.
He regularly insults people who happen to park their car on his property. He is particularly rude towards women.

I've experienced that too. My neighbor has a shopping addiction. But she blames everyone else for it. Highlights of the madness: she bought a handbag for 2500 euros and it's my fault! Allegedly, she couldn't cope with the social pressure and tried to compensate by buying the luxury item.
A psychologist probably blew that into her head.
Now comes the absolute hammer! A few days ago she claimed that I had stolen her bag.

Now the police have questioned me about this utter nonsense.

I think I need a lawyer, what do you think?

Most neighborhood problems relate to parts of the property or paths. Everyone thinks they own everything! Then comes the survey and the big disappointment!

It is not uncommon for years of enmity to develop. There is a novel by Brecht : how much earth does a man need ? Answer: two square meters for his grave.

In the case described above, we are dealing with an unlucky man who has been bitterly disappointed by life. He refuses to accept his lack of ability and blames others for his failures. You can't get along with people like that.

Unfortunately, this is a big problem when people have made big money and fall off the wagon. They then often lose all human behavior and take the right to attack others. Simply accusing neighbors with made-up stories shows how low these people have sunk.

They usually have debts or very little money to live on. This makes them really angry and it is better to avoid them.
You should react coolly to the reports and wait and see. Often they then make further reports and the police put them in the drawer to be dealt with next year.
Another good option is to file a counter complaint in which you tell the police in confidence what your neighbor has done and how much money he has lost.
My neighbor used to own a mansion, now he's squatting in a 30 square meter “shack” and reporting everything that comes to his mind. Poor, sick man ...

Definitely get a lawyer involved, because the nonsense won't stop that quickly.
Some people live in their own world and make up "realities".
Especially people who were once at the top, or thought they were at the top, are in denial about the fall. They often compensate for the problem with a total loss of reality. A 5 million loss then becomes a 10 million gain. But envious people have taken it away again.
