Some neighborhood problems escalate to the extreme. What initially appeared to be a common dispute over a right of way has now taken on criminal dimensions. After we did not comply with the request to accept a questionable right of way, we received
threats over the phone to set our forest on fire!
The police could not help, because the telephone number could not be determined. The officers offered to increase their patrols. However, since the forest is very remote, this will probably be of little use.
The problem with a fire would be the spread of the fire to a mill located on the edge of the forest.
For the time being, we see only the possibility of having the forest cleared at least in the area of the mill. This would create an area that does not burn or only burns very slowly. This would enable the fire brigade to protect the mill. There is a mill pond nearby that provides sufficient water.
