Constant problems with the neighbour, millionaire businessman or pompous busybody? Should I expose him ?

Fortunately, I found this forum. I already had the feeling that I was completely alone with my problems. My neighbour pretends to be a millionaire businessman and impresses everyone around him. He has written to the community saying that I do this and that. Pure lies! But they believed him. After all, he is the rich man! The neighbours are also impressed by him and help him. He also incited the authorities against me.

Now I've found a judgement on Google in which he's been incapacitated for business purposes, so to speak. It's all just pomposity. Nothing behind it! If you look closely, you'll notice that he only drives a little old car. Unusual for a successful businessman. He started to renovate the house. But now he has stopped. Lack of money?

Should I pass on the judgement, which is publicly available, to the neighbours? Or should I do what he did: spread rumours?

Sometimes I get really desperate when he spreads another one of his lies. But I don't necessarily want to sink to his level.

    What do you think?

Spreading rumours? That's bad, and sometimes necessary.

However, it is often the case that inflated neighbours have enough real problems. The problems then correspond to the truth and are not really rumours if you pass them on!
My neighbour compensated for his problems with the story of big money. When I took a closer look, I realised that his daughter had moved to another country. His wife had left him years ago. And it was the other way round with the money. So no big fortune. Little by little, these problems spread through the neighbourhood. The great businessman had become a poor sausage. Sometimes you just have to be able to wait a few months.

      Is that really necessary?

There are often hidden psychological problems when someone puts themselves at the centre of attention. A lack of money can also lead to someone trying to compensate for this. Then the pompous person tells everyone that he is rich. Some people also buy fake Rolex watches to show off.

I've already seen such a sausage borrow a big car. Then he drove through the city at night with the interior lit up so that as many people as possible could see him.

      Pathetic!

Such people often suffer massive psychological problems with their "big money". When the house of cards collapses, there is a lot of moaning and everyone else is to blame. Keep your distance if possible. There are rarely good solutions with neighbours like this.
