Am I trapped in a toxic partnership?

At the moment I no longer understand myself. How could this happen to me? I met a man on holiday three months ago. He is a board member of a corporation. A really attractive man and I was sure at that moment that this was the man of my life. But after two months I realised something was wrong. He treats me badly, out of nowhere. Then his voice changes. For example, he says, "I wouldn't carry bags for a woman. How ridiculous it looked when my CFO came out of the supermarket carrying his wife's bags. The whole company laughed!". I was horrified. But something is also wrong, why would the whole company have laughed? Again and again he says to me that I have to work out the relationship....
