  • Lack of concentration due to being trapped in the home office

Due to the fact that I work at home since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, I feel that I can no longer concentrate as well. I get up a lot, do my household chores in between. I think in the long run it's not so good that I don't fully concentrate on my work. I am self-employed, but I have noticed that I can do less work within a certain time. Also, my motivation to get to work often suffers because I just can't concentrate as well. I do have a separate office and am shielded from the rest of the family, but they always pop up in between and then I naturally interrupt my work. Once a week - until recently even twice - my husband also does home office. Then, of course, I also have to cook. For me, this is tiring in the long run, as I have found. After months of this way of working, I have not yet managed to acquire a good time management.
I did get the tip, for example, to take my drinks and breakfast with me to the office, so that I don't go into the kitchen except for the breakfast break. But I can't quite cope with that when, for example, the mail arrives in between or my mother-in-law calls to ask if I could carry her shopping bag upstairs. But I have resolved to work in a more structured way.
My friend, who feels the same way as I do, told me that I should go out into the fresh air during the obligatory breakfast break and do small chores around the house or garden. That's how she overcame her lack of concentration.
