My husband was considered perfect in my family for a long time. He had a job, with which he earned above average, looked good and presented himself as a loving partner. Unfortunately, this outer facade had already developed deep cracks shortly after our wedding. He became an alcoholic and tended to be aggressive.
Whenever he drank too much, which was quite often, he wanted to have sex with me. Refusal led to punishment. This meant that he beat me when I was not willing to him. Eyes closed and through was not a sensible alternative, because also the following sex, was determined by brutality.
I tried to confide in our relatives, but they didn't want to know about it and said that I was just making it all up to get a lot of money in case of divorce. With the support of a good friend, I finally managed to get away from him. Without warning, I packed a bag with my essentials and moved out.
I am now trying to come to grips with the events of my terrible marriage with psychological support.
